A pair of cups that's made to be together. Wheel-thrown porcelain, painted by hand.
Each stroke is painted in one go, with no going back once the brush touches the surface. The blue and clear glaze layers blend together once the cup is fired.
On the "A-sides," lines from the poem 'Ash Wednesday' by T.S. Eliot, written in blue uncial script: Lord, I am not worthy Lord, I am not worthy but speak the word only.
On the "B-sides,” two details pulled from Fra Filippo Lippi's 15th c. painting 'The Annunciation'.
The cups are sold as a pair. Each cup is approximately 8.5 cm tall and 8.5 cm across (11.5 cm including the handle). Trimmed flat foot and signed underneath.
