Each stroke is painted in one go, with no going back once the brush touches the surface. The blue and clear glaze layers blend together once the cup is fired.
The cup features two lines in uncial script pulled from Emily Dickinson's mystical poem, 'There is a morn by men unseen':
Like thee to dance? Like thee to sing?
The cup is approximately 8.5 cm tall and 8 cm across (11 cm including the handle). Trimmed flat foot and signed underneath.
